Kalkan Boat Charters & Day Trips
Kalkan's harbour is full of traditional Turkish Gullets (sailing boats) waiting to take visitors on day trips around the bay. Boats can be chartered in a mixed group or privately. Unless you hate sailing then a day spent out on the water is the ultimate in relaxation and a great way to see the beauty of the surrounding landscape.
Boats usually set of in the morning and anchor at a number of choice swimming spots through out the day where you can jump in and cool off. Lunch is usually served on board and selection of drinks are available to buy. Trips can be arranged in groups through local travel companies in the town or you can charter your own boat with a group of friends direct on the harbour side. Even for non swimmers this a excellent day out to enjoy the fresh sea air, sunshine and take a snooze under the awning.
Boat trips also run to Kekova further along the coast, where the ancient sunken city of Myra, the blue cave, Lycian tombs and picturesque port of Simena can all be seen whilst cruising around the coastline.
